@indie This sort of crap is exactly why we need the Fediverse. No one should should be able to sell out their community like this (regretting it later doesn't help the users at all).

I struggle to name a single example of an internet startup being bought out by a big corporation (like Facebook, Microsoft, Google, or Yahoo) that didn't end with a massive betrayal of the community. Even sales to smaller companies, like Livejournal to Six Apart, often end in disaster.
